Local businesses in East Sussex are being encouraged to sign up to a special business portal and receive automatic notification of tender opportunities with the County Council.
The South East Business Portal is a free service, provided by Improvement and Efficiency South East (iESE), where businesses and local chambers of commerce can register their interest.
They will then be automatically notified of tender opportunities published by East Sussex County Council and many of the other councils in the South East region.

The Council said that encouraging firms to use the portal was another example of the way it is helping small businesses and supporting the local economy.
Councillor Keith Glazier, Deputy Leader of the County Council, said: “We’re very impressed with the South East Business Portal and we’re really keen to encourage local firms to sign up and register direct with the Portal. Initiatives that make it easier for small businesses to find out about tender opportunities with us and with other councils in the region need to be supported and encouraged. This is another example of our approach to helping small and medium sized businesses in our County.
Our Build East Sussex project which helps local construction firms to win contracts with the main contractors is now well established, and we’ve also recently started an innovative insurance top up scheme that will help small firms to win work at local schools. We’ll continue to look at ways where we can help our local firms during these tough times in order to help boost our local economy,”
