Business Process Improvement
Business Process Improvement (BPI) is a key pillar within Corporate Transformation that can help both individual councils and clusters of authorities in the south east to make improvements and efficiency gains by providing expertise, resources, tools and sharing learning to review a range of services and activities.
What did we set out to achieve?
- To provide access for all local authorities in the south east to tools, techniques and guidance developed through the project and accessibility to training provided through the project
- To support clusters of two or more authorities across the region to work together to make efficiencies and improvements
- To support single authorities in the south east that can demonstrate an urgent requirement to deliver efficiency and improvement through BPI
- To form and facilitate a sustainable BPI network of practitioners
- To provide access to a National Framework for BPI consultancy.
What have we achieved so far?
- Structured support to a range of cluster and single authorities across the south east, with cluster reviews already delivering around £0.5M year on year cashable savings
- A Rapid Improvement Review process developed and delivered that is tailored to the needs of local authorities
- A range of ‘just in time’ training opportunities delivered to supplement and support local authorities in delivering BPI
- A Business Transformation network developed with quarterly meetings attended by practitioners from across the region to share experiences and learning
- Advice and guidance and access to appropriate external consultancy support
